Rivers has enjoyed a wide-ranging maritime and insurance practice focused on representation of vessel owning, chartering and insurance interests, including maritime employer liability, ocean and inland transportation, marine pollution, cargo, vessel construction and repair, maritime PI and death defense, hull claims, marine insurance coverage, and claims involving the tanker, container shipping, fishing, cruise line, ports and terminal, and recreational vessel industries. In addition to his maritime practice, a significant portion of Rivers’ practice has also involved general and commercial litigation, property & casualty work, and subrogation recoveries. As a former U. S. Navy JAG and claims officer (Captain- Ret), his practice also includes pursuit of claims against the U. S. government.
